On book availability and philosophical materialism

I stopped the distribution of my book that was mentioned in a previous post. Among the grounds for this action is my assessment, that it does not entirely meet the high standard of quality I want. If you're sure you're interested in the content anway, an EPUB version can still be downloaded from the german national library: http://www.dnb.de/EN/Home/home_node.html (Use the search function.)

Furthermore, I have lost interested in participating in contemporary mainstream philosophy. One major reason for this development is the fact that philosophical materialism is still widely considered a rational explanation for the world as we know it, despite the obvious and undeniable reality/existence of perception. (For a fancier expression replace "perception" with "consciousness" or with "qualia" in the previous sentence.)

Materialism/Physicalism is fundamentally incapable of explaining or justifying perception as we know it. This insane "religion" can only "define it away" into a mere behavior (of physical stuff). It's not really hard to grasp that behavior of matter remains just that, behavior of matter, no matter which ways it's virtually lumped together into objects or entities by the means of language definitions. There would be no reasonable basis for ethics and morality. Subjective experience could not be truly pleasant nor could it indeed be painful (in materialism), because subjective experience would be an arbitrary construct of the mind which wouldn't really be there, just like the mind itself wouldn't "be", as such. Yet anyone who rebukes the reality of joy and suffering must be considered insane,
 ...
at least according to my version of rationality ... .

The first post (non-philosophical)

I'm early in the process of writing a non-fiction book, a philosophical one. I plan on giving away the ebook version for free. But since the publication is at least months away and I don't plan on adding further posts to the blog before my book is finished ...  here comes something else I created, to test blog functionality and to fill the empty space.

A poem I wrote years ago:

Dark colors fill the scene,
there's nothing else to be seen.

Yet it's not a void,
always whirling and flowing
then there starts as a point
and resolute it keeps growing,
with no way to mute.
It's displacing the dark,
enough to look bright.
This is the mark!

There still is some light.

You put up the fight
and while clouds can come push,
'cause always you were right
it was never enough
(to do more than a brush? :-) )

As the clouds keep on drifting
the brightness keeps shifting.

Here the opacity isn't profound,
changes happen and show,
tacitly, but it's still been around
and now ... will grow bright.
The stars tell it how.

This days last flash strikes
down from the cloud wall
- is it doing as it likes ?
No, I do not know all.

Yet there moves the second
like one could have bet
onwards to the other
- when did it regret ? -
to come one step closer.
Heaven does not forget.

Lone yet unrboken they were.
And things went their.
Is their really more to say ?
Connected by love, a real pair,
few could have so guessed
and a crowd feigns dismay
when their bond is confessed.

Together they join,
it should be like that.
Go tossing up coins,
it will show up both heads.

Both halves re-united,
of brilliance to gain.
Though once looked seperated,
their faith not in vain.

They dared to defy,
were not far apart.
The lense goes slide by,
this impression's pure art.

Look the disk of the sun.
As it gets smooth
the intellect argues
that holes cannot move.
But it cannot deny:
The two are now one.
Just open your eyes.

From the fall we recover.
Why to even feel bothered ?

Darkness' still there,
but now we can bear.
